Get Refund or Adjust Against Income Tax for FBT Paid of A.Y. 2010-11

As you all know FBT has abolished  from A.Y. 2010-11. However, many assesses has paid advance tax in respect of FBT during this current financial year 2009-10 for assessment year 2010-11. So CBDT eventually issued this circular for adjustment of advance fringe benefit tax (FBT) against income tax /advance tax for the assessment year (A.Y. 2010-11) or get the refund accordingly. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has issued this circular. No.2/2010 today.

Any installment of advance FBT for A.Y. 2010-11 will be treated as advance income tax paid for A.Y. 2010-11. You can get the refund if any unadjusted amount for A.Y. 2010-11. See or download below the Circular No. 2/2010 for Adjustment of “Advance Tax in respect of Fringe Benefits” for
